SCOPE AND MOTIVATION

The exponential growth of communication technologies is paving the way for the evolution of 6G networks, heralding a new era of connectivity that transcends traditional boundaries. In this landscape, integrating space, air, ground, and sea domains presents unprecedented opportunities and daunting challenges.

At its core, the workshop aims to unravel the complexities inherent in designing and deploying integrated networks that seamlessly connect diverse environments. From the vast expanses of space to the depths of the sea, each domain presents unique communication challenges, ranging from ultra-low latency requirements for space missions to robust underwater communication protocols for marine exploration. Furthermore, integrating computing capabilities within these networks promises to revolutionize data processing, edge computing, and distributed intelligence. We can unlock new possibilities for real-time decision-making and resource optimization across interconnected domains by leveraging technological advances, such as AI and edge computing. Sensing forms the backbone of situational awareness in integrated networks, enabling context-aware communication and precise navigation. We can enhance our understanding of the environment and optimize network performance in dynamic and challenging conditions by deploying advanced sensing technologies, such as IoT devices and remote sensing platforms.

Ultimately, this workshop is a collaborative effort, seeking to foster interdisciplinary discussions among researchers, practitioners, and industry experts. Together, we aim to chart a roadmap towards the realization of 6G Space-Air-Ground-Sea Integrated Networks (SAGSIN). By sharing insights, identifying challenges, and exploring innovative solutions, the workshop aims to catalyze advancements that will shape the future of communication in interconnected multi-domain environments.
