Prof. Rahim Tafazolli

BiographyRahim Tafazolli, the only Regius Professor in Electronic Engineering. He is Fellow of Royal Academy of Engineering (FREng), FIET, Fellow of WWRF a professor of Mobile and Satellite Communications, and is founder/director of the 5/6G Innovation Center since 2012. He is also Director of Institute for Communication Systems (ICS) at the University of Surrey. He has a good relationship with the UK government and local council, and has cooperated with Huawei for many years to support the cooperation and technical research of Huawei and Surrey University in 5/6GIC in public.

Title: 6G research and some solutions

Abstract: The talk will start with "why 6G" is needed, and "what" technologies will deliver the requirements of 6G in 2030+. On the "How" a number of technological solutions will be presented. These technologies cover all aspect of 6G including new techniques for radio,  MIMO, radio access, AI, network slicing, and future satellite communications. Example solutions that are  some of the techniques that have been invented by 5/6GIC at the University of Surrey and are part of ongoing research and innovation.
